Orcosa receives U.S. patent for packaging designed around RITe™ tablets
U.S. Patent No. 12,383,494 recognizes packaging technology designed to preserve tablet integrity and protect sensitive formulations.
Orcosa announced the grant of U.S. Patent No. 12,383,494 for packaging developed for its rapidly disintegrating tablets. Issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on August 12, 2025, the patent adds to the intellectual property supporting the company’s RITe™ Platform.
The packaging uses a multilayer lid and well structure, including thermoplastic polymer and aluminum barrier layers, to hermetically seal individual tablets. Its design limits exposure to light, moisture, and oxygen—factors that can affect sensitive formulations during storage.
For a tablet designed to disintegrate rapidly, protection before use is an important part of development. The packaging is designed to resist access by children while preserving tablet integrity and supporting product stability, bringing formulation and packaging design together.
The patent reflects Orcosa’s work on the practical details behind its medicines, from the tablet itself to the way it is protected. It expands the company’s portfolio of inventions as Orcosa advances its pipeline of investigational products.
