Former FDA Commissioner Andrew C. von Eschenbach, MD, joins Orcosa as Senior Advisor
Experience in medicine, research, and public health adds depth to Orcosa’s advisory team.
Orcosa appointed Andrew C. von Eschenbach, MD, as Senior Advisor, adding the perspective of a physician, surgeon, oncologist, and former FDA Commissioner to its advisory team. His role encompasses counsel on regulatory and public affairs, clinical trial development, and corporate matters.
Dr. von Eschenbach served as Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 2006 to 2009, following his appointment as Acting Commissioner in 2005. Before joining the FDA, he spent four years as Director of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
His medical career began with a degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, followed by residency training in urologic surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital and a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. That background combines direct patient care with leadership in research and public health.
Dr. von Eschenbach’s experience adds to the clinical and development expertise supporting Orcosa’s leadership team. The company is developing its own medicines with RITe™, its proprietary tablet technology, with a focus on the medicine and the experience of the person taking it.
